A leading UK online computer hardware supplier has ordered a mini automated Sortation System to not only speed up their sortation process but to improve accuracy. As with all companies selling high volume / low margin products, a miss-sort generally concludes with the original item being lost and cost of replacement can be very damaging to the bottom line.
This has also given them the opportunity to use the image of the courier label captured by the scanner (camera) which will be automatically emailed to the recipient as a way of saying ‘your order is on its way’ having visual evidence that it has been picked, packed and ready for despatch. A nice touch with no cost attached!
